REQUIRED INSPECTIONS & INFORMATION

1. Inspect footing reinforcement before pouring concrete footings.

2. Inspect the foundation wall reinforcement before pouring concrete walls.

3. Any other rebar.

4. Under concrete floor inspection. (Plumbing)

5. Intermediate Inspection:
Inspect rough framing and sheathing work.
Inspect rough plumbing work.
Inspect rough electrical work.
Inspect rough mechanical work.

6. Insulation.

7. Notify the building inspector when starting laying of brick, installing of siding, or applying other exterior finishes.

8. Notify the building inspector when starting to apply roofing.

9. Notify the building inspector when work starts on any fireplace or chimney.

10. Inspect rough drywall before taping and applying drywall mud.

11. Inspect water line before back-filling.

12. Inspect sewer line before back-filling.

13. Inspect gas line before back-filling

14. Other inspections: masonry, 4' masonry wall, or bond beam.

15. Final inspection.

The list of inspections above may not be inclusive of all inspections required. Contact the building official if you have any questions concerning what needs inspection.

GENERAL INSPECTION RULES:

  • Inspections must be called in 24 hours prior to wanting inspection.
  • Concrete rebar inspections have priority over other inspections if called in 24 hr. prior to wanting inspection.
  • DO NOT cover up anything requiring inspection - failure to do so will result in removal of covering or complete condemnation of work.
  • All inspection tests are required. (Electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.)
  • NO building can be occupied until final or the Building Inspector issues a temporary occupancy permit.
  • All inspection cards and plans must be on the job site during inspections.
  • Second inspection fees will be assessed against the builder, contractor, or other.
